Uses / Indications

TAZLOC Beta 50mg Tablet is used for:

• High blood pressure (Hypertension)
• Heart protection in hypertensive patients
• Prevention of heart attack and stroke risk
• Blood pressure control when single medicine is not sufficient

Mechanism of Action

TAZLOC Beta 50mg contains two medicines:

• Telmisartan → relaxes blood vessels by blocking angiotensin-II receptors
• Metoprolol → slows heart rate and reduces pressure on the heart

Together they help lower blood pressure and improve blood flow.

Dosage Form

• Prolonged Release (PR) Tablet
• Oral administration
• Usually taken once daily

How to Use

• Take as prescribed by doctor
• Swallow whole with water
• Preferably take at same time daily
• Can be taken with or without food
• Do not crush or chew the tablet

 Common Side Effects

• Dizziness
• Weakness
• Fatigue
• Breathlessness
• Nausea
• Slow heart rate
• Low blood pressure
• Headache

Serious Side Effects (Rare)

• Severe low blood pressure
• Irregular heartbeat
• Fainting
• High potassium levels
• Breathing difficulty
• Kidney problems

Contraindications

Avoid or use cautiously in:

• Asthma or COPD
• Severe liver disease
• Heart block or severe heart failure
• Pregnancy (especially 2nd & 3rd trimester)
• Severe low blood pressure
• Allergy to telmisartan or metoprolol

 Important Warnings

• Do not stop suddenly
• Monitor blood pressure regularly
• May cause dizziness → avoid driving initially
• Avoid alcohol
• Potassium supplements should be used cautiously
• Kidney function monitoring may be required

Drug Interactions

May interact with:

• Ramipril
• Lisinopril
• Digoxin
• Warfarin
• NSAIDs (Diclofenac, Indomethacin)
• Clonidine
• Lithium

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

• Not recommended during pregnancy
• Use in breastfeeding only under doctor supervision
